The University was mentioned in an article about eSkwela at the Manila Bulletin’s Students and Campuses Section, January 13, 2011 issue.
The article entitled “Taking ALS to the Next Level,” features the initiatives and achievements of the eSkwela Project, a project of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) in cooperation with the Department of Education’s Bureau of Alternative Learning Systems (DepEd-BALS).
The University along with five other state universities and colleges (SUCs,) is a partner of CICT in converting the printed modules into digitized and interactive electronic modules. Out-of-school youth and adults use these e-modules in eSkwela centers nationwide. President Magpantay, who has been supportive of the project, expressed his willingness to assist in the establishment of eSkwela centers in the province. Several inquiries on setting up of eSkwela centers have been addressed to the BPSU eSkwela project team.

One of the requirements in establishing eSkwela center in a locality is the strong support of the local government unit and the local DepEd division office. For further information about the eSkwela project, you may visit them at alseskwela
