CMMA acclaims TG’s 1588 as Best Literary Publication

DSC 1990The Guilds (TG), the official student publication of Bataan Peninsula State University- Main Campus marked another milestone as its 2015-2016 Literary Folio “1588” was awarded Best Literary Publication in the recently concluded 38th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) held at Star Theater, Star City, CCP Complex, Pasay City on October 12.

The event having the theme “Communication and Mercy: A Fruitful Encounter” recognized the folio’s theme of supporting the second oldest church in the Philippines, the Sto. Domingo Church in Abucay, Bataan built on 1588.

CMMA is one of the highly-regarded award-giving bodies in the country that supports and recognizes the professional and competent use of media communication to encourage the total human development of the Filipino audience.

TG Editor-in-Chief Jamesnick Seramines shared that the award is important to support the call for the recognition of the said church.

“Malaki ang maitutulong nitong citation para makilala at malaman ng lahat ‘yung importance ng mga long-standing structures sa Pilipinas na nagsilbing saksi sa kasaysayan natin,” he shared.

Also finalists were The Guilds’ Issues for Best Student Organ- College, and Diploma: The Guilds Documentary 2015-2016 for Best Student Short Film.
