BPSU ties up with Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry; Dr. Magpantay signs MOU

BPSU and HUFI Top Officials during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, January 17, 2013. Armed with the aim of promoting educational and academic exchange between the Philippines and Vietnam, the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry (HUFI) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Jan. 17, 2013 at the Tanghal Likha Center, BPSU Main Campus. BPSU President Dr. Delfin O. Magpantay and HUFI Rector Dr. Dang Vu Ngoan represented the parties during the signing of MOU.

In line with this, both universities will make every reasonable effort to encourage direct contact and research cooperation between their faculty members, departments, and research institutes, to the extent that they are able, and to cooperate in the fields with which both parties are concerned.

Both institutions also agreed on the following general forms of cooperation: joint research activities, exchange of academic materials and academic publications, exchange of faculty members for research, lectures, and discussions; joint program from certificate to doctorate, linkage of website onto the sister university’s website to enhance information exchange; English training for the HUFI staff in General English, and English for Specific Purpose; lastly, assistance in matters of curriculum.
Furthermore, BPSU and HUFI understood that all financial arrangements for specific visits, exchanges and other forms of cooperation will be negotiated for each specific purpose.

The implementation of this agreement commenced on signing date, Jan. 17, 2013. The agreement is in effect for five years, subject to revision and modification by mutual agreement.
