BPSU Officials visit Mayor Gila Garcia

Dr. Delfin O. Magpantay, the President of Bataan Peninsula State University, together with the other officials of BPSU visited the new Mayor of Dinalupihan , Hon. Angela “Gila” Garcia, last July 26, 2013 for a courtesy call.Mayor Gila warmly welcomed the group in her office. The young mayor enthusiastically shared her vision of making BPSU Dinalupihan Campus (DC) as the “research arm” of the town of Dinalupihan  when it comes to environmental problems, specifically on waste management.  Dr. Maria Fe V. Roman, BPSU-DC Director happily announced that initial steps were already undertaken by some faculty researchers along this thrust. Dr. Roman also reiterated that the University is in full support of all the programs of the municipality.

Dr. Magpantay and Mayor Gila also shared ideas regarding plans that would call for the mutual  support of the local government and the university.  Mayor Gila mentioned that Bataan is one of the provinces which is mandated to pursue ways and means to protect and rehabilitate the Manila Bay.  The tributaries in Bataan find their routes towards Manila Bay and it is necessary that these waterways be rid of wastes and garbage.

Dr. Magpantay assured Mayor Gila that the university will do  its part in the said undertaking. Mayor Gila likewise affirmed that in her full capacity as a public servant, she would also assist the university in its mission to achieve excellence.
