64 Bataeños qualify to DOST undergrad scholarship

The Science Education Institute (SEI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has released recently the result of the 2015 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Competitive Examinations that was conducted nationwide last September 21, 2014.

Of 413 4th year high school examinees in Bataan, 55 qualified under the RA 7687 or the Scholarship Act of 1994 and nine (9) under the Merit Program or a total of sixty four (64) students

Incoming and on-going DOST-SEI scholars will receive bigger stipends and other allowances starting school year 2015-2016.

All DOST-SEI scholars who will enroll under the field of Physics/Applied Physics, Geology, Mining Engineering, Agriculture, and Fisheries courses will receive P6,000 monthly stipend from the previous P5,000 monthly stipend.

DOM COB Library Talk

The City of Balanga Library intends to promote the library as a place for lifelong learning through books, journals, and other online materials and through facilitated life coaching as well.

Every month the library features books on certain topics. Various speakers are invited to conduct a short-talk about the selected topic.

Last January 23, 2015, employees and students from different institutions flocked to the Mentoring Program series titled “Conquering 2015: Better and Happier Me” 2:00 in the afternoon at the City Library of Balanga.

Participants listened attentively and eagerly learned from Dr. Delfin O. Magpantay, University President at Bataan Peninsula State University as he shared his tips and tricks on how to unlock a better and happier self.              


CLHRDC’s Milestone IN 2014

The Department of Science and Technology III as the lead convenor of the Central Luzon Health Research and Development Consortium (CLHRDC) has continuously strengthened the system of collaboration within member institutions in Region III to develop and enhance their capacity in doing health research that will improve the health conditions of the people in Central Luzon. The different committees of the CLHRDC namely Research Management Committee (RMC), Ethics Committee (EC), Research Utilization Information and Communication Committee (RUICC) and Capacity Building Committee (CBC) have all actively pursued their functions to ensure that all the activities stipulated in the 2014 work plan were accomplished.

BPSU yields 91 Mechanical Engineers in October 2014 Board Exam

The BPSU obtained 88.35% passing rate against the 77.06% national passing rate in the recently concluded Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination held this October 2014. A total of ninety one (91) out of one hundred three (103) takers from BPSU passed the licensure exam. This placed BPSU 7th in the top performing schools in the Philippines with at least 80% percent passing rate. It's the second time we made it in the top 10 Universities with the last year's ME licensure Exam placing as in the 6th place nationwide.

Educational Tour in Silicon Valley for SMART SWEEP Champion

news1The winning team of the recently concluded 10th SWEEP Innovation and Excellence Awards has embarked on a week-long educational tour of Silicon Valley in order to process and motivate them to explore the entrepreneurial environment. Fresh graduates Mark Anthony Colentava and Laurence Arguelles represented the team that created the winning device, CoinSaver, at the SMART SWEEP innovation awards.  CoinSaver is a kiosk-like device which enables user to improve the way they spend their extra coins by saving for the products or services that they want or need.
