BPSU has dynamic extension services office

BALANGA, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) has a dynamic Extension Services Office registering 62 completed and on-going extension projects for year 2015. In the 2-day yearend review of the university extension projects last month, 30 projects were assessed on the first day and 32 the next day.

“We got external evaluators to ensure impartial assessment of our projects”, said Dr. Hermogenes Paguia, Director of Extension Services Office. Among others, BPSU extension projects include Gulayan sa Barangay Extension Project, Basic Computer Literacy Program for Elementary Teachers, Adopting and Developing Gawad Kalinga Community, Utilization of Small Farm Reservoir for Upland Agriculture, Science and Technology Community-Based Farm on Mango Production, and Application of Coral Transplantation Technology to Improve Productivity of Coral Reef Resources for Responsible and Sustainable Fisheries to Harness Potentials of Bagac, Bataan for Underwater Activities. It will be remembered that last year Paguia and Dr. Bernadeth Gabor, BPSU Main Campus Chairmanof Extension Services, were conferred awards by the Bataan Jail Management and Penology for conducting skills trainings to inmates at the Bataan District Jail. The BPSU Extension Services Office implemented NC2 training courses that include bread and pastries making, food and beverages, tour guiding, housekeeping, basic welding, and front desk servicing for inmates at the provincial jail. Aside from imparting skills competencies, the training aimed to enrich perspectives and values of inmates for their welfare. “Our dynamic Extension Services Office is line with the thrust of University President Dr. Greg Rodis to make BPSU the preferred university by 2020”, pointed out Paguia
