BPSU ITSO participates in WIPO national workshop on patent analytics

A four-day national workshop on Patent Analytics from November 7-10, 2017 was attended by Mrs. Arlene D. Ibaňez, Manager, Innovations and Technology Support Office (ITSO) and Mr. Eduardo S. Tinao, ITSO Technical Staff and Chairperson, Research, Extension and Training (BPSU Main Campus). The workshop was held at IPO Philippines Multi-purpose Hall, McKinley Hill, Taguig City.

BPSU participates in national IP strategy regional public consultation

The Intellectual Property of the Philippines (IPOPHL) in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) called for the second public consultation at F1 Hotel Manila, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City on October 17, 2017. The University was represented by Mr. Eduardo S. Tinao, Chairperson, Research, Extension and Training and ITSO Technical Staff.

BPSU signs MOA on IP Management and business development project

Dr. Gregorio J. Rodis, University President and Mrs. Arlene D. Ibañez, ITSO Manager attended the Commitment Meeting and MOA Signing of the collaborative project “Enhancing and Operationalizing Intellectual Property (IP) Management and Business Development Office in Consortia Member Agencies” on September 25, 2017at the DOST-PCAARRD Innovation and Technology Center (DPITC), Economic Garden, Los Baños, Laguna. The project will be funded by Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) with Cavite State University as the lead agency.

BPSU partakes in SYNERGY 2017

SYNERGY 2017 is a gathering of research enthusiasts and technology innovators sponsored by USAID STRIDE/RTI in cooperation with IPO Philippines participated by researchers and technology innovators from the Innovations and Technology Support Office (ITSO) networks was held at the Manila Hotel from September 19-21, 2017. The theme of the event, “Creating Knowledge” aimed to provide opportunities to network and obtain first-hand information on the on-going efforts to provoke more university-industry collaboration in science and technology research. Further, this conference was conducted to bridge the gap between the academe and the industry in order to create greater throughput of wealth generating research.

Attendance to technology transfer officers' meeting

Mrs. Arlene D. Ibañez, ITSO Manager and Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia, Director for Research and Development attended the Technology Transfer Officers’ Meeting on September 13, 2017 at PCAARRD, Los Baños, Laguna.  Present in the meeting were ITSO Managers and Technology, Innovation and Business Center Officers from ten(10) selected member agencies who will be tasked to implement the project “Enhancing and Operationalizing Intellectual Property (IP) Management and Business Development Office in Consortia Member Agencies”.

BPSU Participates in NIPS Consultation

The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) as represented by Mrs. Arlene D. Ibaňez, ITSO Manager and Mr. Eduardo S. Tinao, Chairperson, RET (Main Campus) participated in the initial phase of the project on the development of a National Intellectual Property Strategy (NIPS) of the Philippines which was launched on May 30, 2017 at Fermont Hotel, Makati City. The said gathering of Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSOs) representatives was called to conduct research and consultation to collate IP and IP-related data and information as well as conduct an initial assessment of the country’s IP situation on August 8, 2017 at the IPOPHL Multi-purpose Hall. The project is a joint endeavour of IPO Philippines (IPOPHL) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
