BPSU Receives eCEST Project Fund from DOST Bataan

To set forth the collaborative project between BPSU and DOST Bataan entitled “2021 Expanded Implementation of Community Empowerment (eCEST) through Science and Technology to Brgy. Bangkal, Abucay; and Brgy. Palili, Samal, Bataan”, representatives from DOST Bataan Mr. Jerwin R. Vianzon, Science Research Specialist II and Mr. Christian Jayson G. Pedroche, Project Assistant II awarded the research fund worth P 2, 920, 370.00 to the University in the presence of the University President Dr. Gregorio J. Rodis and the Vice President for Research, Extension and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes M. Paguia on July 13, 2021 at the Office of the University President.

Also present during the awarding ceremony are Ms. Catalina V. De Leon - Cruz, PSTD - DOST Bataan Head (Present via Google Meet), Ms. Ma. Florinda O. Rubiano, MAN, Director Research & Development Office, Ms. Bernadeth B. Gabor, Ph.D., Director Extension and Training Services, and Mr. Albert C. Tria, RDO Technical Staff.

The eCEST program of the DOST aims to build progressive, empowered, and resilient communities by introducing appropriate science and technology interventions for livelihood, health and nutrition, education, environmental protection, and disaster risk reduction and management.

Research and Development Office (RDO) and the Extension and Training Services Office (ETSO) tapped different colleges in the university to take part and be in-charge in the specific project component areas assigned to them. This is to ensure that each component will be handled and monitored by the experts and professionals in the field during its first year of implementation.
