Description of the Program

The electrical engineering is a program that leads to Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and deals with the study of applied science and use of technology that involves electrical phenomena. The focus at the early stage of this program is for the student to build a good foundation in areas of mathematics and physical science. The orientation of the learning is gearing towards the understanding of the basic theory and concepts needed for many activities in the profession including as such to design, operations and management, teaching, sales and consultancy.

The Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is a five-year degree program that has a total of 246 units. The program provides the students with specialized knowledge and skills in English, Mathematics, Physical and Social Sciences, together with gradually arranged principles and procedures of Electrical Engineering training to enable the students to master the fundamentals and specialized skills of the occupation for which training is desired.

A student is required to finish the first four-years of the course before he/she shall be allowed to enroll in supervised on-the-job training. The training requires that the student completes 320 hours in the summer of the fourth year in the course.

A Memorandum of Agreement with Don Honorio Ventura College of Arts and Trades (now Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University) made the offering of Engineering programs possible in AY 1997-1998.The Institutionalization of the Engineering and Architecture programs was made possible by virtue of Board Resolution No. 20, series of 2003.
