Palarong Peninsuleño set on September 24

The opening of week-long annual University Intramurals will be held on September 24, 2012 at the BPSU Dinalupihan Campus. The 15,000-strong students of BPSU’s six campus together with the workforce of the University are expected to assemble for the event.

Bearing the theme “Palarong Peninsuleño: Masaya. Makulay. Kakaiba.” , Bataan Second District Congressman Albert S. Garcia will be the guest speaker for the event. Dinalupihan Mayor Joel Jaime P. Payumo and First District Congresswoman Herminia B. Roman are also expected to give message during the affair.

At about 7:30 in the morning, the crowds will gather at two assembly points namely Barangay Sta. Isabel and Barangay New San Jose. Delegates from Orani, Abucay and Dinalupihan Campuses will flock at New San Jose Plaza, while delegates from the Main, Balanga and Bagac Campuses will meet at Sta. Isabel Plaza. The two groups will converge at Dinalupihan Campus.

Production numbers from the six campuses will be staged during the opening program. Mr. Alvin John Dionisio, State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association's Gold medalist in the 1500 meter-run will lead the Torch-lighting Ceremony and the Oath of Sportsmanship.

Aside from sporting events, the Intramurals also serves as venue for various shows, concerts, dance competition, fairs and exhibitions of student organizations.
