BPSU researchers attend seminar on technology transfer law and dost Intellectual Property policies for researchers

The Department of Science and Technology- Region 3 called for the participation of researchers in both public and private institutions to disseminate information on the Technology Transfer Law and the DOST Intellectual Property Laws intended for researchers. The seminar was held at the Conference Room of the DOST Regional Office III on December 12, 2017. BPSU was represented by Mrs. Arlene D. Ibaňez, ITSO Manager, Dr. Rina Q. Paguia, Chairperson for Extension (Abucay Campus) and Mrs. Ma. Florinda O. Rubiano, member, Research Ethics Committee.

BPSU ITSO participates in IP valuation workshop

A two-day IP Valuation workshop was attended by Mrs. Arlene D. Ibaňez, Innovations and Technology Support Office(ITSO) Manager on December 5-6, 2017 at B-Hotel, Alabang. Realizing that IP Valuation is a key aspect and skill which has to be developed in order to efficiently translate results of government-funded R & Ds into useful products and services that will benefit the nation and generate income from the Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Transfer activities, this workshop was organized by the DOST Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI). This two-day live-in training-workshop entitled “Royalty Rates and Other Financial Terms” was mentored by Mr. Philip Mendes, an Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology. He is also an experienced licensing professional who has negotiated intellectual property license for over 25 years with parties in over 25 countries.

IPR seminar-workshop for the College of Technology conducted

The University’s commitment towards intellectual property awareness was further manifested with conduct of another round of IPR Seminar-Workshop for Technology students and faculty of the College of Technology(CT) on November 20-21, 2017 at the Conference Room, 3rd floor, BPSU Admin Building. Speakers during the seminar workshop were Mrs. Arlene D. Ibañez, ITSO Manager, Mr. Eduardo S. Tinao, ITSO Technical Staff and RET Chairperson of the Main Campus and Ms. Andrea O. de Jesus, ITSO Technical Staff.

A four-day national workshop on Patent Analytics from November 7-10, 2017 was attended by Mrs. Arlene D. Ibaňez, Manager, Innovations and Technology Support Office (ITSO) and Mr. Eduardo S. Tinao, ITSO Technical Staff and Chairperson, Research, Extension and Training (BPSU Main Campus). The workshop was held at IPO Philippines Multi-purpose Hall, McKinley Hill, Taguig City.

BPSU ITSO participates in WIPO national workshop on patent analytics

BPSU participates in national IP strategy regional public consultation

The Intellectual Property of the Philippines (IPOPHL) in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) called for the second public consultation at F1 Hotel Manila, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City on October 17, 2017. The University was represented by Mr. Eduardo S. Tinao, Chairperson, Research, Extension and Training and ITSO Technical Staff.
