PSAU Researchers Consult with BPSU ITSO on Patent Drafting

The training conducted at the Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) on Intellectual Property Rights in May 2017 generated potential intellectual properties from researches conducted by faculty. As PSAU hoped to submit IP applications to protect their IPs, faculty researchers visited the Bataan Peninsula State University for consultation on patent drafting on July 11, 2017 , held at the Conference Room, 3rd floor, Admin Building.

BPSU Participates in WIPO Presidents' Summit

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) organized the Presidents’ Summit in cooperation with the International Intellectual Property Training Institute (IIPTI), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and Cornell University, USA on June 21-23, 2017 at PTTI Campus, Daejoen, Republic of Korea. Participating institutions in this batch of participants came from the Philippines, Thailand and Sri Lanka. The Philippines is represented by three universities of the fourteen (14) hub spokes selected by WIPO in the implementation of the project “Creating an Enabling Intellectual Property (IP) Environment for Technology Development, Management and Commercialization-Phase 1). Representatives from the Philippines were Presidents and ITSO Managers from Bataan Peninsula State University, Bicol University and Caraga State University. BPSU delegates were Dr. Gregorio J. Rodis and Mrs. Arlene D. Ibañez, University President and ITSO Manager, respectively.

Launching of the National Intellectual Property Strategy (NIPS) Project

The Intellectual Property of the Philippines (IPOPHL) in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) launched the National Intellectual Property Strategy (NIPS) Project on May 30, 2017, Fermont Hotel, Makati City. Mrs. Arlene D. Ibaňez, ITSO Manager and Mr. Eduardo S. Tinao, Chairperson, Research, Extension and Training (Main Campus) attended the said launching of the NIPS Project.

BPSU Participates in USAID STRIDE Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (KTTO) Huddle Workshop 2

usaid3The second Knowledge and Technology Transfer Officers’ (KTTO) Workshop 2 was held on May 23-25, 2017 at the Pressroom 1, New World Makati Hotel, Makati City by USAID through the Science, Technology Research and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) Program. The Program aims to improve collaborative science and technology and innovative research and development activities in the Philippines for broad-based sustainable and inclusive growth. The first workshop was held last January 18-20, 2017 at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila attended by Ms. Andrea O. de Jesus and Ms. Lianne B. Santos, while the second workshop was attended by Mrs. Arlene D. Ibanez, ITSO Manager and Ms. Andrea O. de Jesus, ITSO Technical Staff.

BPSU ITSO team conducts IPR Seminar-Workshop at Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU)

The team of the BPSU Innovations and Technology Support Office (ITSO) had conducted training on Intellectual Property Rights at the Research, Extension an Training (RET) Conference Room and Internet Café, Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) on May 17-19, 2017 through the invitation of the PSAU President, Dr. Honorio M. Soriano, Jr and Dr. Emelita C. Kempis, SUC III VP for Research, Extension and Training (RET). The said training was facilitated by Dr. Mary Grace R. Gatan, R & D Director. There were thirty (30) PSAU researchers who participated in the said training.

Bataan Peninsula State University participates in AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers) Asia 2017

The Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) Asia 2017 held at Hong Kong Science Park on April 23-26, 2017 was participated by Mrs. Arlene D. Ibaňez, BPSU ITSO Manager and Ms. Andrea O. de Jesus, Technical Staff of ITSO. The AUTM is a non-profit organization based in the United States which is dedicated to supporting and advancing academic technology transfer globally through education, professional development, partnering and advocacy. It is a gateway to learn and explore IP opportunities in Asia and Greater China.
